Since 2011 Culture Syndicates mission has been to engage emerging professionals as Heritage Assistants to gain paid experience in the museums and heritage sector. This is achieved by delivering live projects with small to medium sized museums and heritage organisations. This embeds employability experience along with supporting the sustainability and resilience of the sector.
We continue to work with a wide range of cultural organisations across the UK. The projects to date include collections care, evaluation and audience engagement and research. We are focused on building partnerships with cultural organisations to explore young routes into cultural careers. Since our inception we have engaged over 41 Heritage Assistants and the majority have moved onto jobs within the sector. We are growing our digital model and are working with partners in China to develop our international partnerships. Looking forward we are planning to develop partnership programmes which will enable children and young people to gain insights and experiences to help make their career choices.
