The Deltic Preservation Society operates an open membership and volunteering policy and currently has nearly 1,000 members who receive a quarterly magazine. The Society has maintenance facilities and a public interpretation area within the Barrow Hill Roundhouse Heritage site. The Deltic locomotives appear at Heritage Railway events and on mainline rail tours and the society has an active sales support team who attend these events and operate an online shop. The society has applied for museum status and has received a legacy to establish a Museum. The Society looks to further its links with industry and educational establishments to preserve its heritage.
"Our mission is to promote the restoration, preservation and operation of Deltic locomotives."
