King Edward Mine

King Edward Mine (KEM) manages a heritage site and museum at Troon in Cornwall, to preserve the heritage, and advance education and understanding of mining history and its importance to Cornwall. KEM works in partnership with other community bodies to develop the museum in a way which enhances social and educational benefits for the people of Cornwall. The central feature of the museum is a working mineral processing plant and collection of materials related to Cornish mining history. It is involved in the conservation and preservation of mining related artefacts and records, and the display of these for the benefits of visitors. It engages with the community with schools and local organisations with visits and educational activities, and the use of the 22 acre site for a range of activities for the community.
