The Steamship Freshspring Trust

The Steamship Freshspring Trust

In 2013 the Trust was created to save SS Freshspring, a Nationally recognised unique heritage ship, with the aim for her to sail again as an educational resource and to carry passengers. Freshspring is a valuable Heritage attraction and the last of her class. Register no 28 with National Historic Ships. She is being restored by a team of volunteers, with the Trust administration volunteers working behind the scenes. Freshspring provides a platform to educate and inspire future generations of young people by loaning STEM equipment to primary schools to enable hands on learning; providing ship visits for local schools and public; attending career fairs to inform students about maritime and engineering careers; and virtual Reality and 360 degree Tours of the ship from Spring 2021.

"Our mission is to preserve the past to inspire knowledge for the future and this is what Freshspring achieves."
