Our free one-year Fellowship programme allows you to learn face-to-face with others and online. We provide you with access to university accredited training that’s recognised across the creative industries and beyond.

Talent is found everywhere. We have 10 Fellowship places available – and we want to recruit from all walks of life, throughout England.

Who is the Fellowship Programme for?
This programme is for everyone with leadership ambitions who want to improve their fundraising skills.
Have some fundraising experience (whether it’s from a local project, a national organisation, your own project or a start-up).
Have an employer who will support your application (and if you’re freelance an organisation that will support your application).
Can show us your entrepreneurial skills – in anyway that demonstrates that you have good business sense.

What’s in it for me?
In your 1-year training programme, you will get:
10 days of group and face-to-face training, taking place across England (so there’s sure to be one near you). The 10 days of training includes 2 residential workshops, each lasting 2 days, led by arts and fundraising leadership talent.
Online training designed to suit your particular and individual needs.
A personal mentor.
Membership of an exclusive network of fundraising talent, with opportunities to meet and share at events throughout England.
For those who want to take it further, you can also continue to study with us from 2021 to obtain your Postgraduate Certificate qualification in Arts Fundraising and Leadership, accredited by the University of Leeds. This is available to everyone on the programme - you choose whether you'd like to do it.
What’s in it for my employer?
When you share your learning and skills in the workplace, your organisation benefits. We also give employers exclusive access to online training resources and offer further free training for other team members on our one-day training courses
Once you’re shortlisted for an interview, we will contact your line manager to ask for their support. In the meantime, share this link with them for everything they will need to know.
How much time will it take up?
To invest in your skills development with us, you will need to:
• Get your employer to support your application – they’ll need to give you time to study. If you are freelance, you’ll need an organisation to support your application – they will not incur any costs.
• Commit to 5 hours of personal study a week – this will include your time with your mentor, coaching and learning.
How much will it cost me?
The 12-month Fellowship Programme is free to participants. All course costs, travel, accommodation, and meals whilst on the residential part of the course are covered by Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy. Your employer will be asked to allow you time away for the 10 days of training but won’t incur any other costs.
How to apply?
If you are interested in applying to the Professional Fundraising Fellowships Programme, you will need to submit the following documents:
1. A CV (no longer than two pages of A4), detailing your qualifications and career so far.
2. A covering letter that tells us how you meet the essential skills and criteria outlined above.
3. Contact details for two referees (including your most recent employer).
4. A short video (max 3 minutes) explaining why you want to become a Fellow, and what you’d like to achieve during your year on the Fellowship. You can include this in your cover letter if you’d prefer not to send a video file.
5. The name, and email address of your line manager.
6. A completed Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, which you can download from our website
Once you’re shortlisted for an interview, we will contact your line manager, to confirm your employment/ contract status and ask them to support you through the Fellowship year.
